End of the road

As another year somehow comes to a close, I love to reflect over the last 12 months.

Automatically you jump on the “pft haven’t really done much this year”

When in reality you sit back and have a real look at everything you’ve went through, overcame and accomplished.

I looked back on my blog from this time last year and had written a Similar post on what I wanted to achieve for the new year

And apart from the being seriously single part (which I have accepted is life) i can tick off my list as I’ve done them all!

To see a written list being ticked off gives my organisational head all sorts of delight.

Rather than write a “I need to do this next year” list; I thought I would look at things I’m proud of myself for doing this year instead.

If you can’t give yourself a pat on the pack then who can? 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • One of my main focuses was to develop in my career – which I have. Just after 6 months in my new job I was promoted and since then have developed many more skills I wanted to learn! I’m a very career based chick – I deffo wanna make my name stand out in my work and blog life.
  • At my age I never really think of having “new friends” but this year I’ve added some amazing people to my life who have definitely impacted and been around for some big moments this year. I always say this but having a great supportive circle around you definitely goes a long way for your self esteem.
  • In terms of blogging, I have been so lucky and grateful to have been involved with some of the best events ever this year! I have spoken publicly at two more blogger brunches sharing my experiences with everyone in the same field and with that met many people who have helped me and my blog grow. I never have thought my “what am I doing with my life” phase would still be going three years later in the form of galsgoss!
  • I’d say the most important thing I’ve learnt this year is to believe in yourself – with whatever it is you wanna do, go for it! I’ve had lots of doubts within myself, job, personal life everything really, who doesn’t?! But fuck what everyone else says because there will always be that someone who’s saying something about what you’re doing rather than perusing themselves! A phrase I always love hearing -“What Susie says of Sally says more of Susie that of Sally.

So I can definitely say I am going into 2018 (scary as that sounds) confidently and ready for what’s to come. If you haven’t had the best of years look back like you do on them drunken nights out – the regret is temporary the memories are what you’ll take from it!

Hope everyone has the best remainder of 2017!

Speak soon,

Lotsa love
