Accessories you need for the winter

Now that the autumn has officially landed and pumpkin spice fills the air, it is time for a change in our wardrobe for the colder months. Away go the flowing dresses and maxi skirts of summer, and out of the dark come the chunky knit jumpers and tartan boots. Autumn and winter are always great seasons for fashion because it isn’t too hot to wear layers so you can have fun mixing textures and styles. Here are some of the main little pieces you need to complete your winter outfits this year.

A beanie

The ultimate winter accessory has to be the woolly hat, and you will see so many amazing styles and colours available for you to buy this winter. You can have some fun with a big bobble hat, a fluffy number, or stick to the traditional grey beanie which will match any outfit. It is a great way to bring some winter flair to your outfit, and of course to make sure you stay warm!

A Unique Piece

If you really want to stand out from eveyone else this winter, you need to have something which is totally unique to you. It could be a broach on your jacket, kashmiri shawls for an occasion, a pair of stunning earrings which dangle down to your neck, or a gold or silver clip in your hair to keep it away from your face. Any of these things will give you a style edge and allow you to stand out and show your personality.

An Essential Bag

Everyone needs a great bag to carry around, and a good bag can make or break your outfit. Make sure that when you choose a bag it is one which will go with any color, and think about the comfort of the bag if you will be carrying it around with you all day. When creating a look for the day you can match the color of your bag to your shoes for a sense of cohesion and fashion know-how. Remember that you will likely be carrying around lots of gloves and coffee mugs with you so you need a bag big enough!

A scarf

A scarf isn’t just something you wear during the winter, it can be a fashion item all year around. However, there can be nothing more comfortable on a cold winter day than a fluffy scarf covering your neck and shoulders. Even if you are wearing a fully monochrome outfit a scarf can make a big difference and it will really bring your fashion to the next level. A tartan scarf with a black outfit can look amazing and it will make you feel like a fashionista every day.

Ankle boots

When we think of autumn and winter footwear we often come to ankle boots. Ankle boots are such a diverse type of shoe and they come in many different styles, shapes and sizes to suit anyone’s taste. Take a look around and try to find a pair which fits in with your personality and which you know will work with many of your outfits.

How to Afford Fashion Items when you are On a Shoestring Budget

If you want to start buying far better clothes or if you want to try and expand your fashion sense but you don’t quite know how, then the first thing that you need to work on is your budget. You need to find ways to afford great clothes without spending a ton of money, and this is more than possible for you to do.

Look on Resale Sites

The first thing that you need to do is go onto resale sites such as Ebay. You might even want to pay a visit to charity shops as well. When you are able to do this, you can then find great items at budget prices. It may even be worth selling those items on at a later date as well, so that you can make a profit to buy even better clothes that you love even more. By buying on auction sites, you can also be sure to buy clothes that you wouldn’t normally be able to buy and this is a great way for you to really expand your wardrobe. It even helps to look into your Experian dispute as well, so that you can find out if there is anything you can do to help repair your credit, as this will help you out a lot when it comes to your budget.

Alter Items

The problem with sales is that you may find that some items just don’t fit you. This can be annoying, and this is especially the case when you find an item that you love. Instead of leaving the item on the rail and walking away, why not try altering it? You may easily be able to find something that you can do this with and if you use your imagination then you can really get a good result out of your purchase. You may even be able to take your item of clothing to a tailor to see if they can help you with that. This is especially the case if you have tried to alter it yourself but to no avail, because it means that you are still getting a good amount of practice along the way.

Buy a Slip Dress

Cheap fabrics tend to look see-through or they cling too much to the body. The main reason for this is because they aren’t lined. For this reason, it is well worth investing in some kind of dress or even a slip-skirt so that you can wear it underneath your outfit. The best thing about this is that it will make your outfit look way more expensive and it will also make it look way more flattering as well. It doesn’t take much to get this done and so many stores have offers on things like this on a regular basis.

Save on Your Layers

Layering is a fantastic way for you to add a bit of personality to your outfit. You can buy cheaper layering items from discount stores and then cover them up with more expensive garments. Nobody will know and you will always be saving money.
