If I’ve heard anything over and over again this year it’s this phrase. 👆🏻
Social media to overtake the world for 2018 or what’s the prediction? 🧐
i write posts like these because they are my genuine opinion and 9 times out of 10 I am more or like guilty of it.
(Also, im just seriously bad at having to say what’s on my mind so if it’s harsh or not i wanna share it 🤷🏻♀️)
So anyway basically BIG REVEAL….
My Instagram is not my reality.
Yeah obvs gal. (Say most of you hopefully)
We quite clearly choose the nicest meals, outfits, perfectly placed winged eyeliner selfies to upload to the grid because why would we not?
It’s gonna get the likes, it’s gonna look more pretty, it’s gonna get us that attention we are looking.
So how come some people are not willing to admit this?! Believe it or not this perfect life we all live in squares doesn’t follow through in an all day every day situation (for everyone)...
Thankfully for instastories and captions I feel I can use that in a way to let people (who don’t know me) have a little more insight into my personality beside the image I’m posting – which I feel is VERY important.
There is nothing worse than laughing away at someone’s insta caption then meeting them in real life and they couldn’t think of something witty to say if you slapped them round the face with it? 🤦🏻♀️
Along with the “OMG hun you look soooo beaut here 😍😍😩” comments but can’t fire as much as a wave in your direction if you passed them on the street?!
DONT GET IT.
Instagram is not that far away from real life, so what’s the big deal in expressing the same feelings to one another via social media than to a real life handshake?!
Now don’t get me wrong, if I met harry styles in real life I would totally play down all the fan girl tweets I’ve sent over the years…. 🙄
We all know everyone’s instagram is a selection of their highlights in life, we can pick and choose what way we wanna portray ourselves on social media, but do me a favour and try play some of it out in real life.
The instagram vs reality battle would be a lot more fightable if everyone wasn’t afraid to be themselves!
And personally for me, I would much rather give someone “real” a like and a follow 🤷🏻♀️
